BEAUTY FEATURES Milk Makeup Makes Its Debut at Ulta Beauty

Milk Makeup is expanding its retail presence. The popular cosmetics brand, known for hits like the Hydro Grip Primer and Cooling Water Jelly Tints, will be launching at Ulta Beauty in March, both online and in over 600 locations. Aside from a brief stint at Urban Outfitters years ago, this marks Milk’s first major U.S. retail expansion since 2016, the year the brand was founded as an offshoot of co-founder Mazdack Rassi’s creative studio, Milk Studios, and debuted at Sephora shortly after.
For Milk’s CEO Tim Coolican, this move feels like a natural progression for the brand. “Ulta’s commitment to conscious beauty and its inclusive vision rooted in self-expression made it a clear fit for Milk,” he said. Milk, owned by Waldencast, will bring over 180 SKUs from 33 collections to Ulta, including fan favorites like their primer and cream sticks, as well as their popular jelly tints. The brand plans to expand the jelly product line, which has already seen huge success, selling around 400,000 units in the first three months despite frequent stock shortages.
“We’re going to see more innovation in the jelly space, expanding into new areas where we haven’t historically been present,” Coolican shared. “We’re still in the early stages of Milk Makeup’s journey.” He also noted that the brand’s success is currently concentrated in a few areas—priming, setting, cream blush and bronze sticks, and the jellies—and sees a major opportunity to reach a broader audience in meaningful ways.
Ulta’s expansion is part of that growth. “Ulta has a diverse customer base, spanning generations and regions. We’re launching a full collection there, but there will still be items unique to Sephora to ensure there’s differentiation,” Coolican explained.
This move follows a trend of former Sephora-exclusive brands making their way into Ulta. Notable brands like Farmacy, Tatcha, Charlotte Tilbury, and Sol de Janeiro have recently made the leap, and Milk Makeup is the latest addition. Ulta’s Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Maria Salcedo, said, “Milk Makeup’s addition helps us meet the diverse needs of our guests and expand our prestige makeup selection.”
Looking ahead to 2025, Milk Makeup is focusing on innovation and community-building, staying true to its core values of creating unique, clean products while deepening connections with its loyal customer base. Coolican added, “We’re committed to bringing products to life that don’t exist in their category, ensuring the innovation and ‘clean’ aspects are communicated correctly, and continuing to lean into community.”
FASHION FEATURES Didier Ludot, the Godfather of Vintage Fashion, Says Farewell

For 50 years, Didier Ludot’s vintage couture boutique at the Palais-Royal in Paris was a window into a more elegant fashion era. Shoppers, both locals and tourists, would stop to admire iconic pieces by designers like Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, and Dior, sometimes engaging in thoughtful conversations with Ludot about the garments' histories. However, Ludot decided to close his shop last fall, citing a loss of connection with customers and the changing culture of fashion. He fondly recalled moments when designers like Jean-Pierre Derbord from Saint Laurent would visit and share stories about the creations, marking the end of an era. On January 30, the final 380 pieces from his collection will be auctioned off in a sale titled "The Last Passage."
ENTERTAINMENT Millie Bobby Brown Talks About Henry Cavill’s ‘Strict’ Friendship Boundaries

Working with Henry Cavill, Millie Bobby Brown says, is quite different from her experience on Stranger Things. The 20-year-old actress shared that Cavill is "very strict" about setting boundaries in their friendship, which contrasts with the more relaxed dynamic she has with her Stranger Things co-stars.
Brown first teamed up with Cavill on Netflix's Enola Holmes in 2020, and they returned for the sequel, Enola Holmes 2, playing Sherlock and his younger sister. She explained to Deadline that on the Stranger Things set, there were "no boundaries" because she and her co-stars felt like "siblings," but her relationship with Cavill is different.
Since she didn’t "grow up" with Cavill, who is more than twice her age at 41, as she did with Noah Schnapp and Charlie Heaton, things on Enola Holmes feel a bit more reserved. Brown noted, "It’s different because I grew up with Noah and Charlie. I met them when I was 10, so it feels like schoolmates. With Henry, it feels like a real adult relationship. A really good friendship, a really healthy one."
She added that her bond with the Superman actor comes with “terms and conditions.”
